My one year old yorkie girl got into my purse and ate gum with xylitol.We called the poison hotline(which charges $60 dollars),followed the guidelines to make her vomit and she is at the vet ICU on IV dextrose.They told me they won't know if she will have liver failure for 72 hours. I am sick with worry. I want to see her but I don't want her to get excited and pull out the IV or her catheter. I had no idea this stuff was so toxic and I'm so mad at myself for leaving my purse where she could get at it. It's ggoing to be a long hard 3 days.Please pray...
