The best food for your pet is the one that works best for your pet, period. Don't feel guilty about feeding him a diet that solves his health problems just because some website says that it isn't the best diet out there!
My mom's cat is on the feline version of I/D for life because of IBD issues and has never shown any negative side effects being on the diet.
