Default Concerned about male not eating enough

My female went into her 1st heat on February 12th. On February 24th is when she went into her standing heat and even though they are seperated, my male is going nutso! He hasn't had a decent amount of food since then. I've offered him all his favorites (chicken, ground beef) but he has a little, then continues with his whining and wanting to get out of his confines upstairs. The only thing he is constant on his drinking.

I'm wondering what I can do to actually make him eat a good portion of food. He isn't lethargic, his gums are a nice healthy color . . but he just has no interest in his favorite old pasttime of eating . . .

Anyone else go through this and what can I do?
