I don't use crates but I do use gates. Mine are 3 and 5 and no they don't have full range. Mine are only allowed upstairs when I go up and then they have to stay on my bed. The living room is gated off and they stay out unless someone is in there. When I am not home, they are restricted to the kitchen and laundry room. Mayzie is just too curious for her own good.
