I'm had the nickname fasteddie since the Bulletin Board days (with 2400 baud modems and all that jazz), well before the Internet was popular, since the late 80s probably. I just thought it was a cool "handle" and rolled off the tongue easy. I think the first time I heard it was a friend of mine mentioned it in some way, and I thought it was cool... Plus I like to do things fast?
So I've pretty much used it throughout since that time...
