You can never replace your other baby, and you should not want to. Lacy would want you to be a fur mom. I don't think you would be betraying her at all. It will help fill the void to have a new baby to love. I lost my cat of 17 years one week before I was scheduled to pick up a new kitten (I had that negotiated long before I new my old cat was sick.) I went through some guilt feelings and had a very hard time dealing with that loss. I hung out at the support group at rainbowsbridge.com for that entire week, not sure of what to do. I went ahead and accepted the new kitty, with an understanding breeder who would be happy to have him if I could not keep him for any reason. He is the sweetest boy. My old cat still has a huge place in my heart, but so does my new little one! I'm so sorry for your loss, but happy you have the opportunity to love again so soon.
