Why does your vet want to do a surgical biopsy? I talked to Lacy's specialist today and she was diagnosed with some small intestinal disease and biopsy was brought up (although we aren't doing it at this point). She said they do endoscopic biopsies where they just get a sample of the mucosa and lining. The surgical gets a full thickness (an actual chunk of intestine).
