Too small to breed It is dangerous to breed a 3.5 pound yorkie even for the most experienced breeders. To breed a female yorkie at that size you would have to weigh the risks. The risks are at least an 80% or higher for a C-section, it doesn't matter if the male is smaller, it matters if the females pelvis is large enough to pass puppies. Is your vet prepared to do a c-section at any hour per night, once in trouble, the c-section would have to be done immediately with a very high chance of losing all of the puppies and possible the mother. The chances for eclampsia is higher. Unless you have been breeding dogs for years, and even then it is a bad idea to breed a yorkie female that size. The risks are huge, and if you are unexperienced, and unprepared, they are even larger. Please do not risks this dogs life. |
