I don't believe that dogs should be given something unless they are really really anxious. Everything we give has some effect, and a dog that experiences mild anxiety, learns to control this on it's own. By numbing him, he never learns to experience anxiety and learn that it's ok. Traveling on an airplane is different than going to the vet, but I guess it depends just how much anxiety your dog experiences. |
