This thread brings back memories of my Mother trying to *pretend* she wasn't home when the JW's would come by for a visit. She was always too polite to just excuse herself. And they were always too persistent to notice a young mom w/ seven kids that didn't have time for their "chats". LOL....with seven of us kids running around, you can imagine what it was like for her trying to hide from them
As kids, we were innocent and didn't understand why she was hiding in her bedroom when "those men" came to the door. Once my little sister told them, "My Mom said she's not home"
Mostly we get JW's, tree services and the fruit peddlers..... and at least with the JW's I'm not too worried about being attacked. I'm more honest with them than my Mother was, I politely tell them "No, thank you" and shut the door.
