Yorkie diet Hi everyone! I posted a similiar letter earlier but I think I did it under the wrong area. So, here it is again.
My little Emma has been back and forth to my vet's clinic and to Tufts University. She has had very high bile acid test results (6 blood tests!). She will return to Tufts for the scintigraphy test the 2nd week of March. The ultrasound done in Januarydid not show a liver shunt and the Tufts doctor is sure she does not have one.
She is as active as ever, does noy look sick and is eating well. Since she became ill in December, she is eating Iams low residue kibble---a 1/4 cup 2x a day. A little fresh cooked white chicken tender meat is added.
Prior to getting sick, she ate EVO kibble (by Innova) with the chicken and raw carrots added. The Evo is a high protein kibble. Both my yorkie girls ate it and the one who is not "sick" still eats it!
What does everyone feed their yorkies? Is the Evo too high in protein for a yorkie? It is a premium food which was never on the "recall" list last year. Can a higher protein kibble make a yorkie sick?
Please advise. I always appreciate the advice I get on this site.
