It's not really about weight in numbers as much as it is the feel of your dog. It's o.k. to 'feel' their rib bones when you run your hands down their sides but it's not o.k. to see them...same for hips and shoulders. If you look down at your dog from the top, like looking down at their back, you should see a nice form from the shoulders to ribs is kind of the same but it should indent some for the stomache area behind the ribs and then go back out a little for the hips. Does that make sense?
