When I got my first two Yorkies, one was only 3 1/2 pounds at a year old. The other was 5 lbs. I was a big chicken and didnt have them spayed. I couldnt help thinking that I would lose them under anesthesia. Well, fast forward 9 years. Both HAD to be spayed and they were 10 years old. One had a prolapsed uterus and the other had pyrometria. Well, everything turned out ok and both lived another 5 years with no problems. It was scary though. Good luck on your decision! |
