Hi there. This is just my opinion but even if you are unable to get all the mats out I don't think your baby should be shaved. Shaving is something you should choose to do-- not be forced into. I would find another more patient groomer and maybe pay more to get the mats out. Even if it takes two sessions at the groomers. I think all the suggestions sound really good and I would try all of their ideas especially with the lunch meats and just work at it for a couple of minutes at a time. I remember my mom getting knots out of my hair when I was little and how it hurt. Besides, if you don't HAVE to have your baby groomed that day perhaps you could postpone it until the mats are out. I wish you all the luck and let us know how it turns out.
