Then yes, I think you misunderstood me. In multiple places I've said I don't think we should just ignore anyone. I also said we should educate and help, in one way or another. We should be "helpful" no matter if that help is a specific question OR to educate when we see something harmful.

People judge all the time, that's inevitable. I do think it's possible to educate without being disrespectful.

I'm not saying that naive posters DON'T get defensive - I've seen the "you're being rude" plenty of times - when someone is actually being educational, direct, informative, and factual. But, just because threads go badly - it's not enough of a reason to give up on educating, in my opinion. [Not that "you" are giving up...that was just a general statement]
