For the first four years of our Yorkies life she was a breeder dog named "Only Blue Will Do", then she went to a no kill rescue who named her Belle. We adopted her from the no kill rescue 8 months ago and changed her name somewhat. Just so she would still hear Belle we hyphenated her name to Audrey-Bell. (Audrey Hepburn had a Yorkie too) It took awhile but she answers to Audrey, Belle, Audrey-Belle, etc. Lost or dumped dogs who get new families learn new names every day.
