What I was told when I first started house breaking my little demons was that fresh food (meat or vegtables) takes about 4 or 5 hours to process. Where as dry food takes about 12 hours. Needless to say no meat before bedtime for them. All of my dogs go in the morning and that conisides with their last meal at about 6:30 pm and no water after 7:30 pm. I could be wrong, but it works for all 5 of my dogs. Trying to time the type of foods they were getting and when they where getting them has made potty training easier for me. Hope this helps~
