I used to use shoe-boxes! My baby always cried at night though - she had her own bed(s) in my room and slept there - until one night she found it way more comfy under the covers snuggled up to me. Then she played hell up so much - she used to wake up at like 3am and be scratching like crazy on the side of the bed and whining on my side of the bed! I had to lift her up every time. Just lucky she's big enough now to jump up herself
