No, people don't have to go to church to be close to god. I used that as an example. I could have said: Pray before bed.... light candles in his name, etc etc. During lent one of the three things that are practiced is being closer to god... in whatever way you choose.
If you want to practice lent how it *was* practiced, then go out and give some of your time to a good cause, and get closer to god, and give up something you love for a little while. How hard is it to do it the way religion has dictated it be done? I'm not confused about lent, I suppose. I'm more confused about doing it halfway and calling it complete when it's not. | Everyone is allowed to do thing's the way they want. Some people need to learn how to not be judgmental & be more open minded.
