BJH thanks for making such a suggestion. When I first decided to breed yorkies I looked at it as a money maker, but after talking to lots of breeders to find my dogs I have been very selective of my pair and have chosen to breed top quality dogs that will one day bred a champion. I no longer look at it as a money oppurtunity but as a chance to improve the breed and one day show a good quality dog that could win champions. I have talked to many breeders about breeding my pair and have yet to really find the best mentor for me, but with a great vet on my side (my aunt) helping me find a great breeder as well as doing my own research I have made a check list in what qualities I want from a mentor and what qualities I want to learn from her breeding program.
Hope you find your mentor that fits well into your breeding system that you want to creat!
