 vaccine question-lepto (we're at higher risk)
I know that most people say dont give the lepto. My concern is, I live in the country, I dont want my puppy to be one of those that does nothing but get carried around, he loves to play outside. I also will be taking him with me to my familys when I got back home to stay, they all have dogs, and so do all their neighbors (unfortunately their neighbors dogs run loose, and I seriously doubt are vetted) and I have to let my dog go potty outside. I also work at a zoo, I do only wear one pair of shoes to the zoo, and I do not wear them at home, I take them off before coming inside and leave them in the garage, my clothes go immediately in the wash as well. I was at the vet today, and she said that she usually gives the lepto to all dogs, big and small, she said it was no problem not to, but she rarely sees any reaction, and we are in a higher risk area. What would you do? I would be devastated if he got sick because I didnt, but same goes if I do... |
