Is pulling up during tug-o-war bad? My mom never let us pull up when we played tug-o-war with our dogs growing up. She said it was bad for their teeth if you did that too much, especially if you pull up so much that they're hanging in the air holding on.
Is this just a myth, or is it actually bad?
I ask because my DH's favorite game with Nikko is to get him to hang onto a toy while he lifts him a few inches off the ground. The longer Nikko holds on, the more praise he lavishes on Nikko. It's really pretty cute, but I just want to make sure no damage is being done, especially now that his adult teeth have started showing up in full force.
