haha, not really. : ) It's pretty funny, because there are 3 types of breeders (in my book), those that breed irresponsibly to sell tiny puppies for thousands of dollars (under 3 pounds), those that breed whatever they can (3 pound females, 20 pound yorkies, too old, too young, etc), and those that breed to better the breed. : ) So, no, a Yorkie over 8 pounds is not rare at all.
Plus, 8 pounds is only 1 pound over the standard, so even a good breeder will occasionally have a pup grow up to be 8 pounds. |
