I think if anyone hit Teiya, if she didn't bite them, I would. Monster in laws can be difficult and sometimes it can be awkward to explain things to them in a comfortable fashion. If she wants a perfectly behaved dog, stuffedanimals.com has tons that will always be quiet and sit when you tell them to.
My monster in law just rolled her eyes and gave me "the look" when she found out I got a Yorkie. Of course, it doesn't help that I have 8 parrots in this house too! She's got a true hairless chinese crested. IMO, probably the ugliest dog I've ever met and he's obnoxious as hell.
