What has been your experience with recovery time?

BTW, don't you have a baby with Liver Shunt also, or am I confusing you with someone else on YT?

Lady has liver damage from years of phenobarbital from seizures. She is also diabetic. Chances are if your Yorkie has a disease Lady's had it.

The packed volume is red blood count. Normal is 37-55. Anything over 60 is HGE. The first couple of times Lady had it she was borderline, between 55-60. Subq fluids, antibiotics and an anti-diarrheal did the trick. I did subq fluids at home so she wouldn't have to be hospitalized.

The third time she had it her packed volume was really high, 75.6. She was in the ER clinic at night and my vet's during the day for two days on IV fluids. She was really, really sick.

The recovery is pretty quick once they get the supportive care (usually IV) that they need.
