I must confess I do not own a yorkie, but do own a 3 year old very healthy cockapoo. In our area we have not had a long stretch of cold weather and hence still have fleas. I went to my local Pet Smart and asked for Frontline, they told me I needed to get that from the vet (they have a Banfield Pet Hospital inside the Pet Smart). I proceeded to ask for Frontline at this "vet" counter and the gal recommended Vectra instead. She specifically said it was to be gentler on the animals yet killed the fleas faster. I took it home and administered it to my dog. 12 Hours later she was terribly lethargic. She is my best friend, follows me everywhere, down to get laundry, back up to put it away, etc. All day Saturday into Saturday night, she would not move, would not eat, would not get up to go out, would not follow me etc. Thankfully by Sunday she was beginning to bounce back and by Monday back to normal. I called my normal vet on Monday morning and was told that my vet has heard too many negative side effect around Vectra and does not endorse it. Please do not use this on your pets, cockapoos or yorkies alike! I returned the unused doses for a full refund. If you have it and have not used it, don't!
