My puppy gets carsick sometimes (though not always). My vet told me to try to schedule it so that Violet had not eaten for at least an hour before the car ride, preferably 2 hours. For long car rides, I was told I could give her children's liquid benadryl to help her sleep - you'd have to work with your vet to find out the dosage amount. Violet hated the benadryl, but she slept most of the 8 hour ride to my parents' house for Christmas, and didn't throw up once. I didn't give her the benadryl on the way home, and she was fine the whole way. I don't know how that happened!
