Most have the tails and dewclaws done at 3-5 days. If a pup isn't thriving or is extra tiny, it can be delayed. Puppy shots usually start (for Yorkies) at about 8-9 weeks. You want to wait a couple of weeks after they are weaned as they still have antibodies from the Mom. If you give a shot earlier, it does no good as the titer (antibody) count would still be high from the Mom. Shots are then spaced 3-4 weeks apart.
