She's come a long way! We adopted Lane on 12/23/08. She was part of a puppymill bust in Alabama just before Christmas. The rescue told us not to expect too much - that she would probably never play with Rory, keep to herself and only want to stay in her crate. I think they just wanted to keep expectations low, but I am happy to report she has proven them wrong!
This was taken when we had her for just over 24 hours. Poor thing spent her first full day with us driving down to Florida to spend Christmas with my parents. I think she looks so scared in this picture (adorable, but still).
She now enjoys doggie daycare daily during the work week. She and her little "big" sister Rory enjoy causing trouble 24/7, and we couldn't be happier. Rory has been an absolute doll. We were a little afraid she might be jealous or unhappy, but she has been more than willing to share her toys, parents, beds and even her food dish with Lane. We are amazed and thankful! Thanks to Rory, Lane has learned what toys are and even how to chase a ball. Though I will admit Lane still has trouble distinguishing between say my slipper and one of her plush toys.
And here she is last week!
Here is one from her first yorkie meetup on Valentine's Day:
We will proudly celebrate Lane's Gotcha Day every year!
