When we first brought our puppy Chico home he slept on his bed next to our bed. He would go to bed at 8:30-9 and wake around 4a to fuss and be pottied. On Chico's fourth night home my husband brought him up on our bed for the first time to hang out before we went to sleep. Chico flopped down and fell fast asleep, to our amazement he stayed that way til 6:30 the next morning. Now Chico sleeps on our bed with us going to bed between 8:30-9 and waking up at 6:30. For me it's a small price to pay for a full night sleep, and I figure that it is a comfort for him sleep with part of his "pack" and not alone. If you don't want to have him on your bed, maybe try getting him a stuffed animal that you put your smell on. Chico has a stuffed Yorkie that he plays with and when we first brought him home he would lay with it like a littermate. Good luck with finding a solution, sleep loss is no fun.
