Case in point: We have a pet store in our mall here but they do not take puppies from breeders. They are a small store who takes the mixed breed puppies from the paper, gets them all spayed/neutered and shots up to date and then they adopt them out for the cost they have in them. They work with one of the shelters here and a local vet provides the medical services they need. They take donations and you do have to fill out an application before being allowed to take a puppy home.
So, not all pet stores are bad but if you want to look in one it might be a good idea to do some research first. I would not hesitate to purchase a puppy from the pet store we have in our mall here...they provide a great service to this area. |
Then they are supporting accidental/unwanted/breeding for fun litter's.
I would not buy from them either.
