I have a lot of experience in this.. i have a very strong chewer also She is probably upset when you leave, that is why she chews.

You will have to teach her the wrong and right things to chew on. Make sure she has a nice chew toy or a bone when your away. If that doesnt work, try some stuff caller Bitter Apple Spray. Our pups hate it, you spray it on whatever you dont want them to chew it on and they should stop. We learned this trick after several fixed couches
