Animal Smiley 019 Chloie

Good Morning, all...... a newbie

Our female Yorkie was diagnosed with leg perthes, about 8 months ago and was operated on, (November 04th, 2008). She is presently 14 months of age. We had taken all the precautions before purchasing her and everything appeared in order. She became a family member when she was 6 months of age. At that time she was not limping and she appeared quite healthy while running or walking.

Since Chloie's surgery, she has been healing extremely well, as was diagnosed. She has now had close to 4 months healing time.

Chloie is extremely active and the only time that she favours her one leg is, on somewhat cold days, when she is let out to do her business. On extremely cold days she uses the garage. We live n Burlington, Ontario, Canada and do certainly experience some very cold days. Chloie is always dressed warm when let out and as soon as she does her thing she runs back in.

My question is, does anyone have a "Yorkie" that has gone through this experience with this particular disease? If so, could you please advise regarding complete healing time and any other info you might have.
Chloie weighs in at 5 pounds, in the event weight might be a factor, in healing time.

Praying daily for all those sick "Yorkies" and for all those who have lost a best friend.

Sincerest Thanks,

Gary Wolford
