You are so right Pat, but they are a bit similar. Since Portuguese is harder to speak/write and not many here in US speak/write in Portuguese compared to Spanish, I thought it would be easier for someone to write in Spanish and then someone could somewhat understand if Portugese. Grammar structure is similar. I heard that Portuguese is like a cross between Spanish and French.
