I'm comfortable with Missy not wearing an ID collar because there is no way for her to run out of the house. She stays on the top floor of my house only. She has no reason to go in the basement. My back door has a deck with a locked gate, and she'd have to jump over a baby gate and go down a long set of stairs to get out the front door. I've got 3 young skin kids too, so I have to keep everything safe. Missy will be getting microchipped with her spay in a few weeks. I don't think it's necessary for her to have a collar. When I take her out she wears her harness and leash, and I carry her down the stairs and out the front door. If things change and I felt she should wear ID all of the time, I'd just use her harness. It's a silk harness that I bought from Chattiesmom, she doesn't even notice when she's wearing it.
