I know the breeder personally (for a long, long time) and she has some Very, very nice dogs. She has been showing for about 25 years and knows the standard and has had quite a few champions over the years. The one that was DQ for being dark is only 1.5 years old. She will probably clear and will hold a nice blue. For a bitch - I would rather them break later than earl. Her sire had some great wins too. Yes, she took 1/W/BB/BW just the day before and I believe also has other wins.

I don't think that you have to defend your friend here. Since the day the "new" standard was published we all knew that some very nice Yorkies would suffer from the way it was written. I really was thinking that I would never see a DQ and when it happened I'm sure I had that dumb-founded look on my face that you get when you can't believe what your seeing. We just need to try to know who and who not to show too when we have a dog that can be considered "on the line" in either direction. Some judges understand the intent and honor the supplement letter from the YTCA, but some will only judge by the written standard (which is what they are paid by us to do), so we as exhibitors have to pick and choose our judges carefully and what dogs to show to them.
