Joey's breeder had it written in the contract that only Isoflurane or Sevoflo gas anesthesia be used, and she bore no responsibility or liability if injectables were used. This made me think injectables weren't as safe. I think small breeds have more of a problem with the injectables than larger breeds. Here's some more information on Telazol.
