That would be a scary thought. Do you work outside the home? I do, but did and do plan my vacation time around their whelping date. I was lucky my first (and only so far) time....my female had her pups on a Sunday morning, then I took the next week off and hubby stayed home the week after that. I guess if my next time has a whelp date on a week day, I will plan my vacation accordingly to ensure that I am there for her when she has her pups. As far as being asleep????? I assume I won't be getting much when her time is very near.
Time will tell. I won't be expecting my next litter til this summer.
