Anyway, I have heard it is healthier to let your female have a litter . Does anyone know if this is true? Also, are there benefits to not having her spayed over having her spayed? (Other than the mess of it all of coarse. However, I have found panties from Build-a-Bear work great and have the tiny holes for her tail already in place .)

vets seem to change their minds about things a lot. i remeber when we got our first dog and they said that they should have their first heat to flush things out of their system, then spay. but all the vets i have worked for have always said to spay/neuter at 6 months old, however, in certain cases, such as weight and medical problems they can delay this until they gain weight or get older. I am a firm believer in spaying and neutering your animals. it does cut down a risk of cancer. if you are not planning on breeding your baby, i would get her fixed. as they get older , it gets a bit tougher on their bodies. i would really tell you to consult with your vet!
