My deepest sympathy to you and your gizmo. I lost my first yorkie, also gizmo, 2 weeks short of his 4th birthday from kidney disease two years ago. I still miss him like I lost him then. He was so special. I feel your pain.
Remember him always, and find comfort to know that I am sure we will meet our babies again when our time comes.
