It is NOT healthier to let a dog have a litter. It is healthier to spay them. If you don't spay her, you are risking mammary gland cancer and pyometria. If you breed her, you risk infections, complications during pregnancy and whelping, possible c-sections, eclampsia, and your dog could possibly die (it does happen!).
