I always spayed or neutered. There is a possibility with females that mammary tumors can appear as they age if they are not spayed from what I have researched.

We have rescued the last few dogs well beyond puppy stage (2 1/2 and 4 and 3 years old) so spayed them lwhen we adopted them.

As you can tell, I am for spaying/neutering your fluffs.
