| Just a suggestion... Lola was 1 lb. when I got her at 3 months, and now is 2 years old, and weighs a little over 4 lbs. I was hoping she would get a little bit bigger, but it's fine the way she is. When she was super small and young, she struggled with hypoglycemia and would have to go the emergency vet to help her. That's really the only issue I had with her. Here's my suggestion: a friend of mine, knew another Yorkie owner who accidentally stepped on her baby and broke her babies neck!!! So terrifying!! The little one ended up being fine later, but still very scary!! I couldn't even imagine. She suggested to put a bell on the collar of small dogs, so you know where they are. Lola likes to hang out with me when I'm cooking/doing dishes in the kitchen, and I used to worry that moving around I wouldn't be able to see her. Wearing a bell really helped. I'm sure this is not anything new to many yorkie owners, but I thought I would just suggest it anyway.
Especially with such a little one, you need to be very careful. The bell also helps for other people who may not be looking at the ground when walking. Good luck!! |
