I just got home from visiting Violet. She looked awful. She was shaking and then threw up. I feel terrible because she hadn't thrown up all day, but she threw up when I got there.

She didn't seem happy to see me at all, though the vet told me that earlier she had rolled over for a tummy rub. Which makes me so sad because, normally, she would want a tummy rub from me. I feel like Violet is mad at me or scared of me all of a sudden, because my presence made her shake and vomit.

I'm sick to my stomach over how upset she was to see me.
I got more details from the vet about the condition of Violet's intestines. She said that basically the virus has eaten away at the inner lining of her intestines, which is why she can't keep food down. I asked her if she'd ever seen this before, and she said she's seen similar presentations, but it's very rare. I need to remember to ask her tomorrow how Violet could have possibly gotten this virus. She doesn't spend time with other dogs, and she rarely goes outside (she is pad trained). I just can't fathom how she got so sick. I asked her if the swollen lymph nodes could be at all related to lymphoma, and the vet said it's not impossible, but it's very unlikely. We'll know for sure when the biopsy results come back, but they take 5-7 days.
She is going to stay in the hospital until at least tomorrow. I am going back to see her again tonight, and bringing some boiled chicken to see if she'll eat, as she won't eat the dog food they have been offering her.
