I am a new yorkie owner, but i had allergy problems with one of my other dogs. She spent most of her first year of life on benedryl, steriods, and antibiotics. We tried every food imaginable and then finally ended up at the doggy dermotolodist. From what i read, the skin tests are more accurate and that is what they did on her. She is allergic to everything, dust, dustmites, different trees, molds, fungi, and lots of other things common to where we live. She has been on allergy shots for about 5 months now and doing wonderfully. She has had to do a round of antibiotics and steriods once since we started the shots because there was a major bloom of something she was allergic to. I am just glad the money i spent was worth it in the end! Good Luck!
