And Gracie, too. I'm sorry she still feels crummy sometimes. Could it be IBD? That's something I have in the back of my mind for Violet, but the vet says it's too early to know. The biopsies they did of Violet's intestines may give us more info, though. But the vet does seem to think she has a virus.

They did do a full blood panel on Violet, with nothing out of the ordinary.

I haven't had an update from the vet yet this morning. Hopefully soon. I am going to try to go buy some pedialyte this morning. How do you all usually give this to your pups? Mix a little in with water? Or do you give it to them straight? I'd hate to accidentally give her too much (if that's possible).

And thank you, TOY, for all the suggestions on treats. And you're not meddling at all re: the wedding. I did ask the vet, but they don't do boarding, unfortunately. I have a friend who was going to take her for the week, and the friend said she doesn't mind taking her post-surgery, but she can't take her if she is still sick from a potential virus, as she has 2 dogs of her own. And I totally understand that - I would never want her dogs to get sick. Unfortunately, I am not only missing my brother's wedding, but my mom's 60th birthday party AND the extended family portrait we got her as a gift, both of which are this weekend. I won't be in the photo, which is upsetting me a lot. But my family has been really great about it - my brother adores Violet and totally understands, though I know he is sad. And his fiancee is possibly the sweetest girl on earth, and she understands, too. I spoke with her last night and I can tell she's not upset with me - she knows it's beyond my control. She and my brother are animal lovers, too, so they know how important Violet is to me. The only person who seems upset is the fiancee's mother, who is a bit controlling and seems more upset than others that I won't be there. Thankfully, I don't have to interact with her more than a couple times a year!! That said, I still wish I could be there for all the events of the week. I suppose I'm the most upset of everyone. I was supposed to fly out tomorrow and return next Saturday (the wedding is Friday). Ah well. That's life, I guess.
Can you have her stay at the hospital during that time? When Roxy was in the hospital for her LP surgery, I paid a medical boarding fee to have her stay there longer, as the care at the hospital was better than her being home alone...

Just a thought so you can go to the Wedding...
