i totally understand...spaying and neutering can be so expensive...i am appreciating more and more the breeders who spay & neuter their puppies before sending them to their furever homes...IMO it is super responsible on the breeders part because they know there will not be any "sneaky" breeding going on behind their backs...and also it is scary enough for a young puppy to go to a new home, try and get adjusted and WHAM, go through a surgery....i would prefer it all be done so that all the trauma is over and you can just love on them ... however, i do realize this requires them to keep the puppies longer and i do understand why many do not do this

however, i have already paid for bentleys neuter once (long story) and need to get him neutered for real this time i love my vet - he is great - but when i called for an estimate, i came up with over $500 for the neuter, baby teeth removal, pre op bloodwork, etc...i am sorry, i love my kids to death but i think that is ridiculous!

i have looked into the local SPCA and they offer lower cost neuters and i am going to contact them....i completely feel your pain!
