I could not believe that he put the lease on the collar in the first place, let alone TUG it. He should have immediately told her about the importance of Yorkies always using a harness, and maybe say something about collapsing tracheas. (I know he isn't a vet, but his advice could adversley affect many families)!
I wrote to the show about this the night the show aired and will post if I hear back from them.
I'm still trying to find the show online.
I love Cesar and he has lots of great advice, but I don't think he's had any training in the specific breed problems, and that show may have been the first time that collapsing trachea was brought to his attention. Cesar's specialty is bigger dogs with aggression problems, and considers himself more a rehabilitator than a trainer. So while I love his intuitive understanding of a dog's psyche, remember that some of his advice may not be the best. Hopefully, he'll hire more consultants that do have specialized training. Good for you, for informing them!
