Yep it was a song by the O'jays, but it also seems to be a theme of my life right now.....now for all of you ladies out there with husbands, and a second income coming into the house, please be patient with single-Mom me on this...... and yes, I know no price is too much for our Babies, but with that being said here is my situation:

I recently retired with ONE YORKIE to care for. When you retire from my school system your income drops to HALF whatever your salary was at retirement.... so imagine, within one month's time you are now living SINGLE with a double family mortgage on HALF your regular salary.

THEN your daughter shows up with yorkie #2 to "give back" to you because she is off to pursue her new life.

Ok many of you read my post about the crazy photographer who wanted a king's ransom for pictures of the kids....now that is optional, and can be skipped, but Maya's spay coming up Monday is another thing.

So I decide to call and get some preliminary figures.

"How much is her spay going to cost?

$385.00

"WHAT"

"Well see we do laser. IT is less invasive, and the "recovery" time is quicker (does Maya have a job to get back to???)

"Ok what about the Microchip"

"47.50"

And to pull the baby teeth (when Mika had this done, they charged PER TOOTH, and Maya has 6 or more that need out)

"We don't have a price for that"

"Ok her anal glands need aspirating because she is scooting on the carpet"

"15.00"

"So in other words, this will all come in with tax right at or above $500.00"

"Yes Mam"


Ok folks I have to run an errand, but I will be back, and I would like to know what you all think about this one. When we had Mika spayed...it was like 170.00, that was a year and a half ago.

I'm NOT being cheap, it is NOT that I don't think they are "worth every penny", but I also do think there is such a thing as vet to the stars and normal vets, what say you????
