I agree, take it slow. You may want to get a detangler also. It really helps with knots. Do a little bit every day and more each day. Also, have one spot that you groom them, this way she will get used it and when she is on this spot she knows what type of behaviour you expect of her (standing still or sitting) since this is where she will be groomed. Maggie has never been professionally groomed but sits very well for me, she was a terror at first. Hot Rod was professional groomed several times so he was used to it. Good luck.
